Our work with Wildern School, in Hampshire, led by Michael Morrison and involving Year 10 students, has been a significant aspect of our WRAC project’s outreach. Over the summer term, we ran four workshops designed in partnership with the school and overseen by the project officer. The workshops offered a mix of practical, hands-on activities and discussions, encouraging critical thinking and curiosity, which are key drivers for the school. The first workshop introduced students to the WRAC and the value of oral history. The second session, led by the curator of the AGC Museum, engaged students with WRAC artefacts and photographs to help them generate meaningful questions. The third workshop featured Col (Ret'd) Sue Westlake MBE, who answered the students’ prepared questions in a session that was filmed by Legasee. This session received particularly positive feedback. The final workshop focused on communicating the students' findings, sparking a rich discussion about their learning, even though the end of term, limited the production of tangible outcomes.
