When together the Doors mode of transport around town was the legendary VW Transport, know affectionately as "The Bus". My parents bought a new 67 and I began finagling it from them to me. $895.00 later it was mine in April of 71. I loved my bus, it was my home soon after as the generation gap at my house became a canyon. An idea of a car dealer in Holland in 1947, it went into production in 1949, the first models in the USA had 30 horsepower, and due to the Hitler connection was not an instant hit. We young folk could give a rats ass, it was far out as far as we were concerned.
