Course: ENDOSCOPIC SINUS SURGERY COURSE Module 5: Ophthalmology. Topic 2: Orbital and Optic Nerve Decompression. Prof. Hesham Saleh’s session on decompression surgery of the orbit and optic nerve. Prof. Hesham Saleh (MBBCh, FRCSI, FRCS (ORL-HNS), IBCFPRS), Professor of Practice in Rhinology at the Imperial College London and Consultant Rhinologist/Facial Plastic Surgeon at Charing Cross and Royal Brompton Hospitals. He operates exclusively on the nose and sinuses with a particularly large number of complex and tertiary referral cases. Hesham runs a specialist combined medical/surgical Nose Clinic with Professor Stephen Durham at the Royal Brompton Hospital treating the largest number of patients in the UK with cystic fibrosis, sarcoidosis in addition to severe combined upper/lower airway conditions. He is also Board Certified in Facial Plastic Surgery by the IBFPRS & EBFPRS and is the President of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS)/Immediate Past President of the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (BSFPS). He is the Past President of the section of Laryngology & Rhinology in the Royal Society of Medicine and past council member of the British Rhinological Society (BRS). Originally presented on 11th Dec 2020 -session 21, as part of the GR-ESS 2020 event, a two day event covering all aspects of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (day 1 – 11th Dec 2020) and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery (day 2 – 12th Dec 2020). Global Rhinology Network is a registered academic non-profit organisation with a mission to foster surgical training in the field of Rhinology and Skull Base surgery. The concept of the organisation has evolved through an annual international live surgical webcast. The LIONESS established by Mr. Ashok Rokade with the strong support of participating surgeons in association with the lauded LION foundation.
