Scrum was created in a world of small, co-located software teams. That world is gone. We now deliver complex, end-to-end digital services in hybrid and remote environments, with multidisciplinary teams. Lean-Scrum doesn’t replace Scrum. It builds on it, acknowledging the modern digital landscape and putting collaboration and flow at the heart of delivery. It helps Agile teams identify and cut waste, so they can deliver more value, faster. Here are some of the core principles that make Lean-Scrum work: ✅ Focus on Minimum Viable Work: Always ask: “Is this the minimum we can do to deliver value?” ✅ Time-boxed Discovery & Design: Limit time spent on design and research, stop when you have enough to test and learn. ✅ Release Early & Often: The fastest way to improve is to put your product in front of real users. ✅ Iterative Delivery: Deliver design, technical, and research activities in smaller chunks wherever possible. ✅ Collaborative User Story Delivery: Designers, researchers, developers, QA… plan together, deliver together, learn together. ✅ Backlog Items for UX/UI Design: Separate when needed, but sync closely with development. ✅ One Unified Kanban Board: Keep all activities visible on the same board. ✅ Co-design & Shared Research: Involve the whole team in design and user research. ✅ Adapt to Remote Work: Use the right tools, run effective meetings, embrace digital collaboration. Lean-Scrum is about evolving how we work without overcomplicating it; keeping agility alive while staying relevant to how real teams deliver today. 🎬 In the next episode, we’ll go deeper into Lean-Scrum events — starting with Sprint Planning. We’ll look at how to run it effectively, how to avoid common pitfalls, and how to keep it aligned with real-world team needs. See you there. 🔔Like this content?
