On the calm morning of the 23rd of April, 1994, a park cleaner discovered a packaged severed ankle in one of the garbage cans of Tokyo’s Inokashira park. When police was called, a total of 24 bags with 27 body parts were found divided over multiple trashcans along the pond area of the park. The bizarre way of disposing the body became more and more evident, as the experienced medical examiner uncovered several details that would even make him question the motifs of this unsolved case. Only a few days after the gruesome discovery, police discovered the body to have belonged to 35 year old first-class architect, husband and father Seiichi Kawamura.
