The 2023 Infiniti QX50 Sport Is a Compact Luxury SUV That Will Neither Impress Nor Offend

Throughout this video I call this new trim level of Infiniti's compact SUV both the QX50S and QX50 Sport. It's technically the QX50 Sport, but I'm not going to apologize when it literally says QX50S on the tailgate. Either way, this is a mid-tier trim for Infiniti's compact luxury SUV, borrowing the front fascia and wheels from the QX55 4-door coupe SUV monstrosity thing. Nothing glaringly wrong with the QX50, but there's also nothing great about it. Kind of a bummer that Infiniti's crossovers are now built on the same FWD platform that underpins the Nissan Altima. I remember when Infiniti used to be cool. Competitors to the Infiniti QX50 include the Acura RDX, Lexus NX, Volvo XC60, Mazda CX-50, and Mercedes GLB. You could throw the Genesis GV70, BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Mercedes GLC in there too, but I've driven all of those and they strike me as higher-caliber vehicles.
