New! V4 Mask in 100% Cotton Flannel: https://www.tombihn.com/products/v4mask V2 Mask in 100% Cotton Flannel: https://www.tombihn.com/products/clot... We've designed four different face masks since March; our new V4 Mask is the current favorite here at the TOM BIHN factory. It's made of two layers of 100% Cotton Flannel. And we're also offering our much-loved V2 Mask design in 100% Cotton Flannel. So.... why did we choose to use flannel fabric? Here's the scoop: We were honored to play a very small role in a recently published research study: Filtration Efficiencies of Nanoscale Aerosol by Cloth Mask Materials Used to Slow the Spread of SARS-CoV-2 published in ACS Nano: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsn... As you can read in the acknowledgements of the study, our small role was to send fabric samples to the researchers for testing. The design of our 100% Cotton Flannel fabric is intended to have a chaotic web of fibers, which could create more surfaces with which aerosolized particles could interact, as indicated as a possibility in the study. We have posted the full specifications for our flannel fabric here: https://www.tombihn.com/products/v4ma... Our 100% Cotton Flannel is produced in an OEKO-TEX Certified fabric mill. Please note that this is not a medical grade fabric. Please also see our warnings & guidelines for use: https://www.tombihn.com/products/v4ma... As mask designers, we continually look forward to further research investigating potential mask materials. There’s always more we can learn; scientists and researchers are working overtime on behalf of their communities, countries, and the world on various projects related to COVID-19 and our collective human response to this pandemic.
