Patreon: / frankszkynightcore / discord Peron was an Argentine general who was the Secretary of Labor and Welfare under the 1940s military dictatorship, under which he granted many rights to the workers and for which he earned a huge reputation among the people and the syndicates. With his crescent popularity, the military, which didn't like his populist ideas, opted to arrest him in 1945 but had to release him due to massive protests in the streets demanding his liberation. That's how that same year, Peron became the President of the Argentine Republic till 1955, when sectors of the army revolted and bombarded Buenos Aires, forcing the President to either resign or start a civil war. He chose exile, tho in 1974, when he came back to Argentina, he said he should have chosen war. His first government was characterized by the creation of labor rights based on those of Mussolini's fascist Italy (a system Peron was amazed of), protectionism, indoctrination in schools, harassment and violence against political disidents and a golden era for the average working family which lasted till 1950, when Peron had erased the gold reserves and wealth created last decades. During his exile in Spain, Marxists were introduced in the party to start a resistance (as many of them were fanatical enough to become terrorists), which led to the creation of communist guerrillas like ERP and Montoneros. When Peron came back to Argentina in 1972 he encountered his movement filled with communists and marxists, not only that but sectors of this leftist wing of the party had tried to murder him at the airport, which led to the creation of the AAA (Argentine Anti-communist Alliance), a peronist paramilitary group that hunted down communists. All these events in an already destabilized country led to a war between the State and the terrorists who kidnapped and murdered many innocent civilians. Peron died in 1974, just 1 year after being elected president. From there, his party lost political power and the situation with terror attacks went out of hands, which led to the last and most violent coup from the military in 1976. The Peronists nowadays don't have a clear ideology, they use the name of Peron for the "epicness" of it but aren't fascists, most of them are just socialists or no-brain populists who just want free things from the State while conserving national capitalism. The candidate that is most close to the ideals of Peron was Guillermo Moreno, and he had 0.8% of the votes in the last elections, so Peronism as it was originally has died, but the party is still there, they still sing the peronist march and yeah, its like turkish descendants singing teufelslied in Germany... kinda cringe but ok.
