Michael Rupprecht shares his poetic essay about life with OCD. Michael Rupprecht is a twenty-year-old Napa Valley native with a dream to do his part in saving the world. When he’s not battling Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), he works as the Executive Director, President, and Co-Founder of The Hero Foundation (https://www.theherofoundationus.org/), a nonprofit organization based in Napa. Michael is also a published author, a musician, and an actor. He loves his family, his friends, his team, and with every second of his life, he wants to work for peace. Michael believes we can save the world. This Is My Brave Napa Valley 2020 was presented by Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center as part of the Emergence Festival. This Is My Brave, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (http://thisismybrave.org) is the leading platform for individuals to share their stories of living successful lives despite a diagnosis of a mental health disorder through artistic expression (spoken word poetry, original music, dance, comedy and essay readings) on stage in front of a live audience. We're opening up the conversation about mental health disorders in communities all across the country and beyond via our YouTube channel. We're shining a light on mental illness because it has been in the dark too long. We're ending mental illness stigma, one story at a time.
