A Page in The Life of an Advocate is a glimpse into the life of Charles Blatcher, III, founder/chairman of the National Coalition of Black Veteran Organizations. The 32-minute video introduce the viewer with insight into the influencing factors that prompted Charles's interest in Black and Minority American Military History. His interest led to the development of the coalition that consists of twenty-two Black Veteran groups that joined in a unity of purpose to advocate the preservation of the history. The coalition spearheaded the activities that led to the posthumous promotion of the legendary Buffalo Soldier, Educator and Diplomat Charles Young to the rank of Brigadier General in the Kentucky National Guard and the United States Army. The promotion is next to the final step planned in elevating Brigadier General Charles Young to his proper status in American History. The coalition would like to see a statue of General Young erected on the grounds of the National Museum of African American History in Washington, D.C. We invited the public to join in the effort to make that happen. The statue will honor the man, and the contributions of Black Veterans in the defense of the nation and the furtherance of Civil and Equal Rights. It's American History. Ready and forward.
