Day 12 was spent in bed, trying to get healthy. Did another Covid test which was negative, thank goodness. It was quiet and comfy in my room, which cost 40€ per night, but had a dbl bed, my own bathroom, skylight, sheets and duvet. They had a great restaurant where I ate all of my meals since I didn't want to walk too far. Did walk around in the cathedral for a bit, just to get out and about. Day 13, it was raining a bit, but the walk out of Burgos was very pleasant, walking through a huge park and along the river, finally passing the huge university, where yes, I used their WC facilities. Tardajos is a quiet town, but they have a cafe or 2 and a bar for coffee and croissants. Rabe de las Calzadas has a wonderful cafe for lunch or a break as well as albergues if you want to stop here overnight. This was my first time to send a bag ahead, since I still wasn't feeling super healthy. Kind of nice to only carry 3kg instead of 6kg. Staying in Hornillos at the Meeting Point. Though the room was a bit crowded with beds, it was still a decent place to sleep. Friendly staff, wonderful common rooms and they do a communal meal - paella. In summer, their garden looked great. Shared shower facilities which are not my favorite, but it still wins points for being super clean and with comfy beds.
