From Milk Bar to Mush! | Charlotte’s Web Litter Puppy Feeding

Join us as our four-week-old puppies from the Charlotte’s Web litter experience an exciting developmental milestone, their very first taste of puppy mush. Up until today, these little ones have relied entirely on nursing from their wonderful mama, Halle. Today marks an important transition as they begin exploring a new way of eating and interacting with their environment. This feeding experience engages all five senses and plays an important role in our early desensitization process. The puppies are introduced to puppy mush in our sensory room, allowing them to explore a new environment with different sights, sounds, smells and textures while having a positive experience. Nursing requires puppies to suckle, but eating mush introduces a new skill learning to use their tongues to lap food. While this technique comes naturally to canines, it is still a brand-new experience for these little learners. As expected, the puppies approach this new milestone with a bit of caution at first. But with each positive step, their confidence grows as they discover just how tasty puppy mush can be.
