Few animated movies have had quite the impact KPop Demon Hunters has had. Recently, Netflix revealed that writer-directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans’ animated musical was officially the most-viewed movie in the streamer's history with 236 million views and 393.3 million hours logged, figures that will have since only increased. So popular was the film that a theatrical release was quickly stitched together, with KPop Demon Hunters even topping the domestic box office charts, despite its availability at home. "Going to AIR Studios in London and seeing an entire orchestra perform that score just brought tears to my eyes and just proved to me how far we had come," Kang confesses, perfectly capturing the incredible journey this film has been on. Telling the tale of "K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey," as they "use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat," the film has captured the hearts and minds of the world, even hitting a near-perfect 99% audience rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Recently, Collider's Perri Nemiroff had the chance to chat with directors Kang and Appelhans to talk all things KPop Demon Hunters. From the reason Appelhans simply had to get involved in the project to the film's pitch-perfect casting, and even looking forward to a potential sequel to the film, you can enjoy the full interview here! #kpopdemonhunters #interview #netflix #huntrix #kpop For interviews, movie reviews, and more visit https://collider.com FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL / collider / collider / collider
