They then had my sister then me. Right after I was born he left for the Air Force and went to Turkey, and then started a new family and had more kids that I never met or have known. I saw him maybe a total of three times in my life and the last time when I was 7. A few years ago I found out through Facebook that he was dying of cancer. Shortly after he died one evening super late at night I was standing out on our balcony of the apt we lived in at the time, smoking weed and staring at the huge full moon, just feeling dazed and confused about it all, and mourning the fact that I would never get to know him. I felt this weird intuition that his spirit was near, and that he would like to give me one piece of advice, the only advice I'd ever gotten from him, and it was "Shoot For The Moon, but don't be gone too soon". The phrase just came into my mind and wouldn't leave, along with the feeling of it all. I wrote this song about that message and feeling from that night. I took the photo as well that night....
