Cancun Fall Break 2024 | Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun Resort All Inclusive

We had a wonderful family quality time at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun Resort. The resort was very pretty and the huge pool was really nice. We spent most of our time at the pool. The food in the Gourmet Marche buffet was really good. The food in the Zen Teppanyaki and Sushi Bar restaurant was great. We went there twice. The Grazie Italian restaurant was a NO NO. Let's talk about why we do not recommend this resort. The minute we got off the private shuttle van and we were greeted with a sewer smell. We thought we would be greeted with wet towel and a welcome drink. Nope. When asked about the smell, they told us it's from the mangrove trees surrounding the property. We checked in about 2:00PM and were told to wait til 3:00PM for our rooms to be ready. We had 5 rooms booked. We asked for the rooms to be in the same area especially for my sisters and nieces and were told no. We were put in building 11, 13. 14 and 16. All the bedrooms in 4 different buildings smell like sewer. We asked about the smell and we were told it's NORMAL. The overall service around the resort was really bad. Thank goodness we had a great waiter (Oswaldo) in the buffet restaurant. The waiters in the Zen restaurant were great too. When you go to the Cafe for coffee and dessert, they serve your cakes on a freaking napkin y'all! The lazy river was a joke. They didn't turn on the jet. We asked about it and we were told it was NORMAL. We went to the water slide and got stuck on one of the rides. We told them about the issue and were told it's NORMAL again. Even with all these issues, we didn't let them dampen our vacation. We had a great family time. We ate and we laughed. We spent most of our days at the pool because that's where you don't smell the sewer :). The babies had a blast. This is not a cheap resort.
