Kolon kanserinin en sık metastaz yaptığı organ karaciğerdir. Bazen bu iki kanseri aynı anda görebiliriz. Bu duruma senkron tümörler adını veriyoruz. Tıp alanındaki son gelişmeler doğrultusunda, ameliyatı kaldırabileceğini öngördüğümüz hastalarda hem kalın bağırsaktaki hem de karaciğerdeki kanserli dokuların aynı anda alınması tercih edilmektedir. Bunun sebebi hastanın iki farklı ameliyata girip iki ayrı anesteziyi almasının ve iki ameliyat arasındaki zaman kaybı sırasında tümörün ilerlemesinin önüne geçmektir. Eş zamanlı cerrahide uygulanacak yöntemlerden biri açık cerrahidir, diğer bir yöntemde kalın bağırsağın kapalı yöntemle (laparoskopik veya robotik) alınması karaciğerin açık cerrahiyle alınmasıdır. Ancak uygun olan hastalarda hem karaciğer hem kalın bağırsaktaki tümör kapalı cerrahiyle çıkarılabilir. CAN COLON CANCER AND LIVER METASTASIS SURGERY BE DONE SIMULTANEOUSLY? The liver is the organ where colon cancer most frequently metastasizes. Sometimes we can see these two cancers at the same time. We call this condition synchronous tumors. With the latest developments in the field of medicine, it is preferred to remove cancerous tissues from both the large intestine and the liver at the same time in patients who we predict that tolerate both surgery. The reason for this is to prevent the patient from undergoing two different surgeries and receiving two separate anaesthesia and to prevent the progression of the tumor during the loss of time between the two operations. One of the methods to be applied in simultaneous surgery is open surgery, another method is the removal of the large intestine with a minimally invasive method (laparoscopic or robotic) and the removal of the liver with open surgery. However, in suitable patients, the tumor in both the liver and the large intestine can be removed by minimally invasive surgery.
