Andy Jacob is a livestock carrier servicing the agricultural regions of southern Western Australia. Andy was raised on a livestock property and has cared for animals all his life. Upholding the highest animal welfare standards is of paramount importance to Andy. Eight five per cent of Andy’s business is derived from servicing the livestock export industry. He has recently invested $400,000 on upgrading equipment to be enable him to continue to provide a best -practice service. Andy says a ban on sheep exports would see his business model collapse. As the President of the Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of WA, he believes the same outcome would result for the many carriers operating in the State.
