Presented as part of "9-1-1 Recordings -- To Release or Withhold: Journalistic, Legal, Public Safety, and Family Perspectives" Held at John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Nov 14, 2014 Co-Sponsored by The Academy for Critical Incident Analysis (ACIA) and the Christian Regenhard Center for Emergency Response Studies Frank Straub, Ph.D. is the Chief of the Spokane Police Department, serving a community of 210,000 residents. During his tenure, the SPD has dramatically reduced serious crime, expanded community policing initiatives, and is implementing a department-wide body worn camera program. Chief Straub was present at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and actively participated in rescue and recovery efforts. In the aftermath of 9/11, he led the development and implementation of counterterrorism training for the NYPD. Chief Straub holds a BA in Psychology from St. John’s University, a MA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Ph.D. from the City University of New York.
