We live in the most wonderful period of human existence. We have never had until now, so much creativity, science breakthroughs, liberty, and technology. In the same time, it's a period full of fundamental challenges and existential crisis, and in the middle of all that, it's us, the people and the choices we make. That's the idea Kai, president of PATRIR, shared with us on the TEDxCluj stage, on the 101th day of Ukraine war. He raised into awareness that conflict is normal but what matters is the response to it. He also rose the question about what will we be able to tell our children about our reaction to this challenging period. He wants to be able to tell them he CHOSE to be involved. Kai Frithjof Brand-Jacobsen este președintele Institutului Român pentru Pace (PATRIR) și unul dintre pionierii, inovatorii și practicanții de bază din domeniul consolidării păcii, medierii și adresării crizelor complexe din lumea contemporană. Având dublă cetățenie canadiană și norvegiană, Kai a lucrat pentru mai bine de 20 de ani peste tot în lume, pe fiecare continent, în cele mai dificile și periculoase zone de conflict armat, precum și în situații extreme de criză, la invitația Națiunilor Unite, a guvernelor, a agențiilor și organizațiilor internaționale și a comunităților locale afectate de războaie.
