Out of town provider hosts West; local boys defend their turf

Thunder Hill West with Track Time, 10/26/24, Session 5 Great session riding with Rick. Today was the first day that I could pretty much keep up with him, at least as much as one could be expected to riding a R6 and going VS a new BMW S1000RR. I have gotten a bit faster from my pace a couple years ago. Some of that i attribute to experience gained from track time; but a lot of the reason is that - it was around a year or two ago that I stopped running crappy/cheap tyres. Before then I had always run someone elses take offs, even stuff from the "dead tyre pile" at the track I was known to just slap on the bike and go out there and kick some ass. SO since then i've been on what i'd describe as good tyres, and sometimes even NEW tyres. Riding on better rubber has really opened my eyes to the proper grip that and sportbike should have. Damn do these machines turn so hard and with so much confidence and grip left over, and wow you can grip throttle outta corners with some new rubber soooo hard and it STICKS. really took some getting used to, but now i feel i'm really starting to utilize the better tyres. tho i still have a wayz to go, and i still feel like i'm leaving a lot of grip/speed on on the table, unconsumed.
