Why WV Veterans Want Adult-Use Cannabis NOW West Virginia has one of the largest veteran populations per capita in the United States. Yet veterans here are still opting out of the restrictive medical cannabis program out of concern for privacy, firearm rights, and government registries. A majority of veterans and military families nationwide support legalizing adult-use cannabis, and the data is clear: cannabis access reduces opioid reliance, cuts overdose deaths, and gives veterans real alternatives for PTSD and chronic pain. This campaign asks the Mountain State the question: “When will West Virginia?” Sources: ¹ Leasure, P., Hrdinova, J., Berman, D. A., & Ridgway, D. (2024).
