In the history of cinema, there is no such genre more associated with lost media than that of horror. Whether it be specific scenes in a film that were cut for being too disturbing or entire films being lost to the sands of time due to poor preservation, the horror genre has the most lost media associated with it then any genre of film out there, spanning from the beginnings of early cinema all the way to today.This chart was made by Reddit user Equarep, and it’s a pretty huge chart. Because of the sheer length, I cut out some entries that didn’t really fit the horror aesthetic compared to some of the other entries, so in attention I added some that I was surprised didn’t make it in the chart (such as Frankenstien 1910 or the cow scene from the original Godzilla).
