Tired looking eyes are caused by several factors, one of which is volume loss in the area known as the tear trough. A small amount of Restylane Eyelight, a hyaluronic acid filler, injected into the tear trough as I demonstrate in this video corrects the undereye volume loss and freshens the eyes. The patients who respond best to this treat have undereye hollows. Other causes of tired eyes including excess skin, poor skin quality, swelling, vascularity, fat herniation and hyperpigmentation are not generally treated with filler although other aesthetic treatments such as skincare, microneedling, lasers, and peels may help with some of these other causes. When treating the undereyes, it is important to first treat deflated medial cheeks which give support to the undereye area. This patient had her cheeks previously treated. Using a cannula when treating the undereyes also minimizes bruising, swelling and discomfort.
