To mark the first anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, how Channel 4's live daytime magazine programme Steph's Packed Lunch dealt with the news of the Queen's ill health that eventful day. The show, broadcast live from studios at the Leeds Docks, started as usual, with presenter Steph McGovern introducing guests Dame Sheila Hancock and Katie Price (in to talk about her Trauma and Me documentary broadcast later that day) to the show, as well as the cookery item. But then, in the middle of an interview with someone who had been stalked by her next door neighbour, Steph clearly got a message through her earpiece that meant she had to interrupt the interview and hand over to Kathy Newman at Channel 4 News for a breaking news story about doctors at Balmoral being concerned about the Queen's health, and featuring then recent photos of her meeting and shaking hands with then Prime Minister Liz Truss at Balmoral. And how Mary Nightingale and ITV News interrupted ITV's coverage (it wasn't until November 2022 that they reverted back to the ITV1 name) to bring news of the Queen's health, then her death, with ITV News's full 6-hour coverage: • Her Majesty The Queen has died - watch ITV...
