Advocate General Pitambar Acharya informed the Orissa High Court about the state’s decision, following which the court disposed of the related PIL. Earlier, the case was being probed by the Crime Branch, which had arrested 123 people, including 114 candidates, linked to widespread malpractices in the exam. The petitioner, advocate Sibashankar Mohanty, had demanded a CBI inquiry citing the involvement of interstate rackets and raising questions about the role of officials in the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB). Concerns were also raised about the neutrality of the Crime Branch DSP investigating the case, as the OPRB chairman is a senior IPS officer.
