Bile and Pancreatic Duct

The bile and pancreatic ducts are a network of tubes that transport digestive juices and bile from the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas to the small intestine to help break down food: Bile ducts Carry bile from the liver to the gallbladder and then to the duodenum. The gallbladder stores bile until it's needed, and when food is eaten, a valve releases bile into the small intestine to help with digestion. Pancreatic ducts Carry pancreatic juice from the pancreas to the duodenum. The pancreatic juice contains digestive enzymes that break down sugars. Small pancreatic ducts empty into the main pancreatic duct, which then joins the common bile duct to form the ampulla of Vater before emptying into the duodenum.
