We will not sit idly by whilst our economy is driven off a cliff by the UK Government." "The economic troubles that Scotland is experiencing are entirely due to he miss management of Scotland's economy by the Westminster Government. They hold all of the economic powers not the people of Scotland. The Scottish government has no borrowing powers whatsoever, it's prohibited in fact in law from borrowing so it cannot have a deficit. So if Scotland has a deficit we should be looking to London as a source of that particular problem." "Scotland's economy depends on exporting, it depends on access to the world's largest single market, the European Union, and it depends on the customs union. We cannot afford to loose 80,000 jobs and a drop in income of £2,000 per person just because the UK Government wants to isolate itself from the world." "What we are starting to understand is that Most of Scotland's exports, which are significant, are passported through England, through the UK, and that balance is added to the UK's balance of trade not to Scotland's balance of trade. So the figures really need to be looked at very very carefully. We can absolutely say, Scotland's growing market is the European Union it's not the rest of the UK."
