For making a pind , firstly we take Jau flour and then in that we mix til seeds And then we mix honey and ghee, And after we mix them we make them into round balls. Like how gods prefer misri and butter similarly pitrus , prefer pind as their food. So essentially pitrus or ancestors only prefer to consume food in the form of pind and the reason why til seeds are used is because til symbolises the sweat of Lord Vishnu. All the pitrus pray to lord Vishnu only,The meaning of Jau, is that from the white sweat of Lord Vishnu Jau, had got formed And that also is liked by our pitrus. So we make the Pind out of til flour, which is the preferred food of pitrus and also mix it with honey which is again liked by pitrus and this is the only food that we give them and not any other form of food offerings.
