INFO: Michael Jackson performing Billie Jean in Moscow (for the first time ever) on September 15th, 1993 at the Luzhniki Stadium (or the full name, which is “Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex”). The stadium is the national stadium of Russia — also the name ‘Luzhniki’ originates from the flood meadows in the bend of the Moscow River, where the stadium was built, and roughly translates to “The Meadows”. Speaking of water related things, it was basically raining throughout the entire show, and can be seen if you watch the pro footage to Jam and Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’. Oh yeah and, the show was performed in front of 50.000 people, as part of the Dangerous World Tour. RUMOR: Apparently, stories were going around in Moscow regarding Michael’s usage of drugs, which was received very badly as drugs aren’t exactly welcomed there. I can’t remember the exact details, but people who bought the tickets didn’t show up for the show, so they had to open up the stadium and allow tickets to be bought at the stadium entrance, so there could be enough spectators for the show. — FYI the picture is from a show I don’t really know, but could very well be Moscow, considering the camera has some rain protection on it THOUGHTS: I LOVE Michael’s vocals here, and I mean LOVE. He sings rare adlibs that can be heard during the Victory Tour, and he does his ‘hee hee’s’ during the breakdown as well.
