Chart a safe course for our ocean 🌊 The ocean is alive beneath your hull, teeming with vibrant coral reefs, mangrove forests, and seagrass beds. These ecosystems protect shorelines, support coastal communities, and provide food and income for millions of people around the world. But they are fragile. One boat grounding, one dragging anchor, one careless mistake can cause damage that can take decades to heal. That’s why safe navigation matters—because every choice you make on the water helps protect life in the ocean. This video, Navigate with Care: Protect Our Oceans, shows how boaters can reduce their impact by following safe navigation practices—using nautical charts, respecting Aids to Navigation (AtoNs), slowing down near sensitive areas, and planning routes that protect both people and marine ecosystems. This video is part of the Navigate with Care campaign, a joint initiative of the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation (KSLOF) and the International Foundation for Aids to Navigation (IFAN). The campaign promotes safe and environmentally responsible boating to protect coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass beds from unintentional harm. It has been endorsed as an official UN Ocean Decade Activity. 🌊 Take the Pledge Commit to safer seas and healthier oceans.
