Discover the pros and cons of owning an Eizo FlexScan monitor, compared to more affordable brands. Part 1 - Eizo EV2451 on Amazon ➜ https://geni.us/ClK2R Part 2 - Unboxing ➜ (at 3:27min) Part 3 - Test ➜ (at 9:27min) Part 4 - Summary ➜ (at 16:30min) Personally, I have used Eizo Monitors for many years, first with my old MacMini, then I switched to an iMac and stopped using Eizo for many years. One thing I noticed is that that the Eizo monitors always put less strain on my eyes, which is significant considering how many hours one can clock on any given display over its entire product lifecycle. Personally, I have seen Eizo displays run for 40.000h+ in a hospital setting, which is an enormous amount of operating hours, when compared to my old privately used Eizo L768, which has only around 10% of that, e.g. 4000h+ operating hours. To me having a display that is kind to your eyes means a lot. Unfortunately, my old 24” iMac was somewhat disappointing in that area, because the panel that Apple used was putting a lot more strain on my eyes. From all I can tell, it may be related to the way the LCD panels are constructed. My best guess is that the panel in my old iMac used a cheaper Twisted Nematic (TN Panel) or Vertical Alignment (VA Panel). Having used Eizo, then Apple, and now back to Eizo, I feel very happy with the new display. From all I can tell the quality is far superior in any way. Having said that, my old iMac was a 24”, so I cannot comment on the newer 27” inch iMacs. In any case, Eizo seems to only use the better In-Plane Switching (IPS Panels), and I am amazed by how much their displays have improved over one of the early models I bought. My test revealed that the 16:9 aspect ration Eizo EV2451 and the bigger 16:10 aspect ration Eizo EV2455, are great monitors is you want to do video editing and the like. I assume for people who love gaming, buying a cheaper Samsung, and spending the difference on a more powerful graphics card, may be the way to go, but for me, the Eizo is a great fit. Sure, I may be biased because I studied overseas in Japan, and visited various factories, but hey, I have seen the Japanese attention to detail and quality first hand. Hence I have developed an appreciation for it. Currently, I use the Monitor with my used Mac Pro 4.1, which I bought on eBay for about $400 and then upgraded.
