After traveling for more than two weeks in Java, I finally had the chance to visit Mount Bromo - one of the most famous volcanos in Indonesia on the island of Java. Mount Bromo, standing at 2,329 meters, is one of Indonesia’s most iconic active volcanoes, located in East Java’s Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Known for its breathtaking sunrises, eerie sea of sand, and powerful eruptions, it’s an incredible experience. To reach the crater, you’ll trek across the volcanic desert before climbing 250 steps to the rim—where you’ll witness steaming sulfur clouds and hear the earth rumble beneath you. I woke up at 3am in the morning, where I was picked up by my driver. From there, we drove to the view point to watch the sunrise. After the sunrise and to climb the crater, we drove through the desert to finally reach Mount Bromo.
