Kia India has introduced a CNG derivative in the Carens range, with prices starting at Rs. 11.77 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered as a dealer-level fitment, it commands a premium of Rs. 77,900 over the price tag of the sole Premium (O) variant that the Carens is sold in, costing Rs. 10.99 lakh. As per the official details, the CNG kit is a government-approved kit from Lovato and comes with a third-party warranty of three years or 1 lakh kilometres. While the technical specifications haven’t been revealed, we expect the power output of the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine to remain unchanged at 113bhp and 144Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox is the sole transmission on offer, as is a seven seat layout.
