Dr. Tasila Tembo’s Suspected Murderer Appears Before Magistrate Court

Nigel Mwaba, the 33-year-old man accused of killing Doctor Tasila Tembo of Lusaka’s Meanwood Ibex Hill area has appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate court after spending about 20 days in police custody. The suspect, an Officer of the Zambia Army, is facing one count of murder contrary to section 200 of the penal code chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offense allege that Mwaba, on dates unknown but between 24th and 26th October, 2020, did murder one Dr. Tembo. And when the matter came up before Magistrate Chiwawula Chinuda, the charge was read out and the accused was informed that the offense he is facing is not charged by the Magistrate court, hence committal to the high court for trial.
