Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a well-preserved medieval town located in the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany. The town dates back to the Middle Ages and flourished during the 13th and 14th centuries as a Free Imperial City. Its historical architecture remained largely untouched by modern development or destruction, especially since it was spared from heavy bombing during World War II. Today, Rothenburg is a popular tourist destination known for its fairy-tale appearance, festive Christmas market (Reiterlesmarkt), and landmarks like the Plönlein, Town Hall, and St. Jakob’s Church.
