Preparations are underway for one of the lesser-seen—but critically important—steps in our £1.25 billion green steelmaking transformation. While public focus is often on our future Electric Arc Furnace, behind the scenes, another key development is taking shape: the construction of a brand-new Pickle Line, essential for future steel processing. We spoke with Lead Project Engineer Phil Bridges, who’s leading the complex task of clearing the former Batch Annealing Bay—unused since the 1990's—to make way for the new multi-million-pound facility.
