Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) is about to start from New Ashok Nagar & Anand Vihar Delhi to Meerut South by December end of 2024 or January 2025. Currently, Namo Bharat train operates over a 42 km stretch from Sahibabad to Meerut South. With the operationalization of Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar section, the operational length will increase to 54 km with 11 RRTS stations. Trial runs for the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) trains started in Delhi on October 5th from Sahibabad to Anand Vihar Delhi, and then to New Ashok Nagar Delhi station, a month ahead of schedule, said officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). NCRTC Spoke person Mr. Vats said: "We expect Anand Vihar RRTS station to become one of the busiest commuter transit hubs soon, with significant daily footfall due to its proximity to a metro station serving two metro lines, a railway station, and two ISBTs — one on the Delhi side and the other at Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh. We are working on seamlessly integrating the various transit modes to offer commuters effortless convenience and accessibility." More details about the project: RRTS is a long semi high-speed train that will connect the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. Namo Bharat Train is 100% made in the Bharat train. This will run at the speed of 180Kmph, however it's currently running at the speed of 160Kmph. Currently it's operating from Sahibabad to Meerut South station. Travel time is 30 minutes from Sahibabad to Meerut South Ticket price is Rs.90/- and Free parking along with shuttle service is available.
