🇨🇳 Today I’m exploring the Leshan Giant Buddha (乐山大佛) — the world-famous 71-meter-tall Buddha carved directly into the cliff face in Sichuan, China. I started the day early from Chengdu, took the high-speed rail to Leshan, stored my backpack at the station, and headed straight to the scenic area. Before reaching the main Giant Buddha site, I also visited Oriental Buddha Capital (东方佛都), a quieter Buddhist cultural park filled with cave chambers, cliff carvings, and the impressive Pharmacist Buddha (药师佛). After that, it was finally time for the main highlight: seeing the Leshan Giant Buddha from the top, walking down the narrow cliffside path, and standing right at its feet to truly appreciate the scale of this monument. This wasn’t a day trip for me — after Leshan, I continued onward to Emei to prepare for the next part of the journey.
