Measuring BMW R60/5 Engine Parts (How-To)

The BMW R60/5 project is coming along just fine...but there are still many parts that I need to work on! This engine is probably one of the coolest I've worked on so far and I really want to get everything right when I put it back together. Since this engine is just turned 50 years old now, there is a lot of wear and tear on the inside. I've got a couple measuring tools ready like my outside micrometer, telescoping gauge, dial bore gauge and feeler gauge to see what components are within spec and which ones are out of spec. In this video, I do not share all measurements of this engine, but I share with you an insight on how to use each measuring tool and how to check if certain components are still according to the factory specifications. Down below I have provided a spreadsheet so you can see some of the values I took from this engine. I hope this will come in handy if you ever decide to rebuild your own engine!
