Welcome to Flight Report #8! After a week in Bangkok during the end of year holidays, it is finally time to go home. This time, I was flying back to Singapore after a week long family getaway in Bangkok onboard SQ981. SQ981 is operated by a Boeing 777-200ER and I am glad that the aircraft I flown on came with a retrofitted Economy Class Cabin This aircraft was fitted with the 2006 Economy Class product and the seats were upholstered with the 2013 Economy Class cabin color scheme This flight was not very full. We encountered a slight delay due to the late arrival of the aircraft and a faulty lavatory onboard. Despite this being a red-eyed flight and a busy flight for the crew, the service was unrushed, polite and professional. Although some of the crew were a little tired during this late night flight, they still carried out a warm, genuine and friendly smile as they serve the passengers. The crew were very well organised and well composed. This is especially the fact that there were time constrains before the aircraft pushed back and the crew had to continue the Hot towel service and special meals clarification after takeoff. The crew managed to clear the cabin just in time for landing. A huge thumbs up to the efficiency and team work among the crew! :) Supper was served on this flight, there was a choice of Beef with Mashed Potatoes or Thai Fish Curry with Rice. Just to say, BKK's catering is absolutely amazing! :) The Thai Fish Curry with Rice, which I ordered, was excellent. The Fish was perfectly cooked along with the Thai Coconut Curry. The dish was truly aromatic and savory. The Beef with Mashed Potatoes was fantastic. The beef was well Braised and was really tender. (It literally melts in the mouth! :D) All in all, I truly enjoyed my flight with SQ even on a short flight like this.
