Should you SHIELD your guitar?

In this video I’m shielding the guitar with conductive paint. In the end I’m testing the connectivity. I’m still amazed by the difference it makes for the noise level picked up by the electronics. The goal is to create what’s called a Faraday cage. That’s why it’s necessary to put copper foil on the back of the pickguards. I’m heavily inspired by Novo guitars by Dennis Fano - and my building philosophy is - not to reinvent the wheel- but rather try to learn from the greats. I’m at guitar building beginner and I have been following The Great Guitar Build Off competition 2020. I learned a lot from the competitors and that inspired me greatly to build a guitar myself. I built my first guitar under lockdown last summer 2020 and now it’s time to build the next one. Guitar building kind of hooked me. Why is that a good thing? Because old wood is cool and more resonant. The point is to learn how to build great guitars. It can't be rocket science, but it's fascinating.
