Welcome to our live wildlife cameras from a working farm on the Cumbria–Lancashire border, where we’re lucky enough to share our landscape with both barn owls and tawny owls. This live stream brings together multiple nest-box and roost cameras, offering a rare window into the private lives of these iconic British owls — from quiet daytime roosting to nocturnal hunting, courtship and family life. ⸻ 🦉 Barn Owl Nest Boxes Our barn owls have been part of the farm for many years and have successfully raised multiple broods. Cameras are positioned inside and outside nest boxes located in traditional stone barns and modern agricultural buildings. Regular viewers may be able to tell the two adult barn owls apart: • The male wears his leg ring on his right leg and typically has a very clean, bright white chest • The female is ringed on her left leg and often shows dark flecking or spotting across her chest You may see: • Courtship and pair bonding • Egg laying and incubation • Feeding visits and chick development • Fledging and post-breeding behaviour Both adults are ringed as part of long-term monitoring, which helps build a picture of breeding success over time. ⸻ 🌲 Tawny Owl Nest Boxes Alongside the barn owls, we also host tawny owl nest-box cameras in quieter, more wooded parts of the farm. Tawny owls are more secretive than barn owls and are often heard before they are seen — especially during the breeding season. Depending on the time of year, you may observe: • Calling and territorial behaviour • Nest-box visits and inspection • Egg laying, incubation and chick rearing ⸻ 🌿 About the Farm This is a commercial mixed farm managed with wildlife in mind. Over recent years we’ve planted hedgerows and native trees, created ponds, and installed nest boxes to support owls, birds and other wildlife. These cameras form part of a wider project to share and celebrate nature on working farmland. ⸻ 📌 A Note for Viewers Wildlife behaviour is unpredictable.
