For years, he participated in maintaining the very political structure that millions of Zimbabweans suffered under. He was present when resolutions were passed. He was part of the machinery that upheld the authority of ZANU PF through key moments like 2008, 2018, and 2023. These were not neutral years. 2008 was marked by violence and suppression. 2018 was marked by disputed legitimacy and the military’s continued influence. 2023 reinforced a system many Zimbabweans had already lost faith in.And through all of this, Blessed Geza was not resisting the system. He was sustaining it. He did not suddenly discover the suffering of Zimbabweans when it was happening. He did not suddenly discover injustice when it affected ordinary citizens. He discovered it when the system began replacing him. This distinction is important. Because opposing a system when you benefit from it is courage.
