Cast Iron Delta Grinder Stand Repair - Part 2: Brazing and Horizontal Milling

This is the second part of the Delta cast iron stand repair where I am installing two small cast iron castings to replace the broken ears on this part. The castings I am using were cast at Cattail Foundry from a 3D printed pattern that I had made. With the castings in hand, I needed to mill a step in them on my Wells-Index vertical milling machine to match the steps that I previously milled in the original casting. Then the new castings were brazed in place. Finally, the entire project was set up on my Kearney & Trecker 2H horizontal milling machine so that I could mill the bottom flat again and drill two mounting holes. The part was then cleaned up with a die grinder and is totally repaired and ready to go back to its owner.
