Private Banks Gaining Market Share At The Cost of PSU Banks

Ajaya Sharma spoke with Kunal Shah of ICICI Securties on his outlook on Banks. Mr Shah says they, at ICICI Securities, like Axis Bank and HDFC Bank among private sector banks and SBI among PSU banking lot. He expects a pick up in advances growth, margins to be stable and slippages to be lower this quarter. For the entire banking universe, they expect a 35% growth in earnings and a 8-10% operating profit growth. He says growth momentum for HDFC Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Mahendra Bank has been better than the industry average and that private sector banks are gaining market share at the cost of PSU banks.
