50 mm Lens for Landscape Photography

In this week’s episode, I decided to challenge myself to only use my 50 mm lens for landscape and nature photography. The nifty 50 is a very versatile lens and I often only think of it as a portrait lens or for those times I want/need a really shallow depth of field. However, as you will see in this week’s video, it is a very versatile lens that can be used for landscape and nature photography. Want to shoot a panoramic photo? The 50 mm lens is there. Want to shoot some flowers with amazing bokeh? The nifty 50 has your back. Looking for fast prime at an affordable price? Look no further than the 50 mm prime lens. Nearly every camera manufacturer has a 50 mm prime lens and one with a wide aperture (think f/1.4 or f/1.8) is a must-have in every photographer’s camera bag! In this week’s video, I also share some recent photos taken using my Nikon Z6 and my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens. As you will see in the photographs I share, you will see the versatility of the nifty fifty lens. I had so much fun shooting with my 50 mm lens that I plan to incorporate it more frequently in my landscape and nature photography!
