Shooting at 1200mm with the Canon R6 Mk. III (600mm f/4 + 2x Teleconverter) delivers great image quality with impressively low noise — even when tracking fast-moving subjects at higher ISO settings. In this video, I also break down how the Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) behaves between the Electronic and Mechanical shutter: • Electronic shutter (20–40 fps): Smooth viewing that makes panning with fast birds precise and natural even when large in the frame. • Mechanical shutter (12 fps): Noticeably harder to accurately pan especially when the subjects get large in the frame. This comparison highlights the importance of being able to use the the R6III’s electronic shutter and why it is a game-changer for me when shooting at extreme focal lengths on fast subjects. If you’re serious about bird photography and want to see how the R6III handles high focal lengths and flying birds large in the frame, this video is for you. 00:00 - Introduction 04:33 - Image Quality 1200mm 07:48 - EVF Behavior 10:03 - Conclusion Bird Photography Tours: www.whistlingwingsphotography.com Speed-shooter Photography Harness System: www.speed-shooter.com
