(26 Oct 1995) Russian/Nat Despite a Russian news report that President Yeltsin is in better health now than when he was taken to hospital last July, the world is speculating on just how serious his heart condition is. Presidential aide Viktor Ilyushin said Yeltsin's stay in hospital should not be cut short, adding that the President will be allowed time to recover completely. Kremlin spokesman Viktor Ilyushin said President Yeltsin's trip to France and the United States in the past week had been a major reason behind his recurring heart trouble. Ilyushin said Yeltsin had been taken to hospital from his country residence outside Moscow where he had been "recovering" after his foreign trip. SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "Boris Nikolayevich is in the Central Clinical Hospital. We spoke with his doctors, and the people who work with Boris Nikolayevich. The last conversation I had was with the director of the medical centre. According to the doctors Boris Nikolayevich has a heart condition, a continuation of what occurred this summer." SUPER CAPTION: Viktor Ilyushin, Kremlin spokesman He said in future, the President's foreign visits would be planned to give him more time to adapt to time differences. A planned visit to China in November has already been postponed. Yeltsin's press service previously mentioned November 8 to 11 as likely dates. Other immediate professional duties would be considered Friday. SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "Yeltsin's stay in hospital should not be cut short...there is great optimism but he wont be able to attend work tomorrow. Tomorrow we will decide on Yeltsin's scheduled duties in the near future." SUPER CAPTION: Viktor Ilyushin, Kremlin spokesman Ilyushin said a final diagnosis would be delivered on Friday, "but it is already clear that there is no need for an operation". As far as the upcoming Bosnia meeting scheduled for October 31st, Ilyushin said the decision whether or not the President would attend would also be made Friday. "The settlement process in Bosnia should follow its course, he added, a scheme of consecutive steps for reaching peace in the Balkans should be worked out".
