13th World Championship of Pipe Smoking 2014 – Cologne, Germany
The 13th CIPC world championship of pipe slow smoking took place on October 12 in Cologne, Germany. Almost 400 pipe smokers from 25 countries all around the world joined the competition in the historical Wolkenburg. The winner was Hans Sonderman from the Netherlands (02:26:28). Former world champion Gianfranco Ruscalla ended on 2nd place (02:24:11), Peter Balint from Hungary took the 3rd place (02:14:26). Women's results: 1. Elisabeth Dobnig (Austria/01:50:22), 2. Maria Pocsi (Hungary/01:06:18), 3. Irene Karsten (Germany/01:05:10). Team results: 1. Italy (05:41:26), 2. Netherlands (05:31:26), 3. Japan (05:01:08). The event was presented by CIPC (Comité International of Pipe Smoker Clubs) / VDP (Verband Deutscher Pfeifenraucher) and hosted by the Pipe Club of Cologne.
