Cane sugar summer margarita (with fresh orange and brûlée garnish)

Hi everyone! By popular request, this is my first tutorial in a cocktail series that I am starting. I love margaritas and they are perfect for summer so I thought this would be appropriate as we are getting into the warmer months. I usually use agave to sweeten my margaritas but with this cocktail I used a different approach, sweetening it with caramelized cane sugar. I hope you love this recipe as much as I do. Find me on Instagram @itsblitzzz Burnt cane sugar orange margarita recipe 1 oz fresh lime 1 oz fresh orange (preferably squeezed yourself) 3/4 - 1 oz burnt cane sugar simple syrup (adjust sweetness to your preference) 2 ounces Herradura Ultra Anejo (Available here: http://bit.ly/2oAld4E) or tequila of your choice (there are amazing tequilas in every price point, choose your favorite!) Orange slices (for garnish) Turbinado sugar (for garnish) Smoked sea salt (optional for rim of glass) Culinary torch (for garnish) Buy one here: http://amzn.to/2p6EHPi Ice Tools Cocktail Shaker (http://amzn.to/2pamNgF) Jigger (http://amzn.to/2paeOjG) Rocks glass or mason jar Directions: Rim half of glass with smoked sea salt (optional). Combine lime juice, orange juice, burnt cane simple syrup, and tequila in a cocktail shaker. DO NOT ADD ICE YET. Set your shaker aside and prepare your garnish. Place an orange slice on a heat resistant plate and sprinkle with turbinado sugar. Brûlée with culinary torch as shown. Set aside. Add ice to your shaker and shake. Dump contents into rocks glass or mason jar. Garnish with caramelized orange slice. Enjoy!
